From Dronfield Town

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Dronfield Wiki! Your help in documenting the history, landmarks, businesses, and people of Dronfield is invaluable. Below, you'll find guidance on how to contribute, the resources we are looking for, and how to get in touch.

What We’re Looking For

We encourage contributions that are well-sourced, properly cited, and relevant to Dronfield’s history and culture. Here’s what you can contribute:

  • Historical Content: Articles based on historic documents, books, and other reliable sources.
  • Images: Photographs, scans of historic documents, maps, and illustrations related to Dronfield.
  • References: Information must be supported by verifiable references. Primary and secondary sources are welcome.
  • Unique Materials: Any rare or unpublished materials, such as personal collections, old letters, or artifacts, that are relevant to Dronfield's history.

Standard Practices

  • Sourcing and Citations:
    • Every contribution should be supported by reliable sources.
    • Use reference tags for inline citations and a dedicated "References" section at the end of each article.
  • Neutral Point of View: Content should be written in a dispassionate and factual tone, avoiding bias.
  • Images: If you upload an image, include descriptive captions and indicate the copyright status. Images should be relevant to the content.

Workflow

We use a workflow system to track the progress of articles. Each article is tagged with a label that shows its current status:

  • To Do: Articles that need to be created.
  • Doing: Articles currently being worked on.
  • Need Help: Articles that need assistance, such as additional research or sources.
  • Needs Images: Articles that lack images and would benefit from relevant visuals.
  • Review: Articles undergoing review for accuracy and completeness.
  • Published: Completed articles that are live on the wiki.
